Our Story
I bought a gun safe to protect my firearms, to secure important family documents, and most important - to prevent my children from accidentally getting to my firearms. For various reasons, I chose to install the safe in my home office. It allows me to quickly access my firearms before heading to the range; and if the basement sump-pump malfunctions and the basement floods, which had already happened, I don't have to worry about my safe getting flooded.

However, while putting the safe in a room on the first floor made it more accessible, it also created several security challenges. Based on the furniture and size of the room, there was only one place to put the safe and it was in direct line of sight of my computer webcam. I use video-conferencing with companies I support. No one needs to know I own a safe.
Another challenge is the location of the room with my safe. It's on the front of the house with two windows that face the street. During the day, you can't see into the office. The light prevents someone on the street from seeing anything through the windows. But at night, if I forget to close the blinds, you can clearly see a safe against the back wall. What happens if I forget to close the blinds?
Having never owned a large safe, I didn't know what type of accessories existed. I found dozens of companies with hundreds of interior accessories, but what about hiding the safe? I found dozens of companies that sold safe covers and a couple that sold simple cloaks. But none of them were designed to be truly 3D and cloak from both human eye and video devices. I wanted a gun safe cloak that would create a façade and make the safe "fade into the background" and not draw your eye to it.
After several months of searching (and not finding what I wanted), I teamed-up with a professional graphics design team to develop a more complex design that would specifically cloak against not only the naked-eye, but also cameras, video cameras, and other video devices. Once the patent paperwork was submitted, I demo'd the cloak for twenty colleagues from California to New York. The response was unanimous - "As soon as you start production, I want one."
I've also been known to have a bit of humor. The Gun Safe Cloak is not only a security product, it is also designed to make you laugh. When your cloak arrives in the mail and you attach it to your safe...read the book titles. If your wife, husband, or mother-in-law does not have a sense of humor, do not buy this cloak. When we started shipping the cloaks, we started getting emails and calls from customers who said they couldn't stop laughing.
I had more than 100 video sessions with clients before I created the Gun Safe Cloak. 80% of my clients noticed the safe and asked what I had in it. After developing and installing the Gun Safe Cloak with more than 300 video conferences, not a single person noticed the safe. Not. One. Person. 100% success.
